In the third dream, I was walking my old black Labrador, Natasha, and also the black mutt, Parker. It was nighttime, and we passed several interesting things on our way (home?). We heard a Rolling Stones concert in the background, and I regretted never going to see them, because I was introverted. We passed by some dorm rooms, and I knew there were girls who wanted to have sex, but I also knew they were probably diseased or something, so I had no interest in that. A long-distance running team ran by us as well.
We crossed a very dangerous traffic intersection, even though I had trouble understanding the walk/don’t walk signs. Nat looked tired, so I decided to give her a treat. It was caramel; I thought she might like it, but it surprised her, and she couldn’t eat it properly. It stuck to the roof of her mouth, and I had to pry it away. She did like the chocolate though! The fact that dogs aren’t supposed to eat chocolate either wasn’t an issue, or just didn’t occur to me. I thought it interesting that I could understand her barks as a kind of language, or even words…

[Creative commons photo credit at flikr: Black Lab]Unfortunately, Nat is no longer with us, though Parker is still around. Parker is a strange dog; maybe he has some wolf in him??? Anyway, Nat was a special dog, and I do miss her. Perhaps this dream has something to do with the fact that Grito was killed a few days ago? Perhaps the dream symbolized the companionship the dogs have shown as I passed those events in my life? Symbolism is not very forthcoming this morning…
