Dream: Parade in Paris

Last night I dreamt I was in France, and I wanted to visit my old roommate J…however, I don’t think he was there, and I was disappointed. I do also remember the presence of my old HS marching band in the city, about ready to step off for a parade. The band was extremely disorganized, and the band director (who seemed to be OSU’s coach Jim Tressel!), couldn’t get his driver to listen to him, so he was stuck behind the horses, and couldn’t do anything.

The horses were huge, and wild, and acted very nervous around the cars. I also seemed to witness a fight of some kind. A man was talking to a very large man, or maybe some kind of horse-creature, showing him how to “create space”, by giving a short right to the ear, and then stating that this punch is best followed by a sharp left cross. This happened several times until the creature got angry…

I’m not sure how to interpret this dream. The dream dictionary states that a band symbolizes one’s developing an ability to work with others, and a new synergistic energy. However, I’m not sure if I was actually in the band, and it was very discombobulated in any case. Also, I did not much care for my band experience when I was in HS. The dream dictionary also says that boxing portrays an “argumentative personality,” which I can have sometimes, but I wasn’t the boxer; at least, I don’t think so…
