Telepathy & Natural Disasters?

I was able to document two dreams last night in detail…

Telepathy

In the first dream, I seemed have telepathic abilities. I could read minds by observing patterns in others’ aura. But only if they would let me, so there seemed to be moral (karmic?) implications of looking into the patterns of another’s life. This is actually an ability that I’m just starting to develop (slowly). In the electronic resources page, I’ve posted a link to one meditation exercise that I’m using. For those that may be interested, you can also get to it by clicking here.

I especially noticed if a person’s crown chakra was not functioning; they seemed to be incomplete. Not everyone in the dream had this ability; it seemed that one of my functions was to aid in others’ development, if they were willing. At one point, I was in a room with my family (watching TV, how stimulating!), and I remember talking to my Uncle about energy balances, but he was uncomfortable whenever I brought it up. Obviously, these issues individuals must come to understand for themselves within the context of their own way of thinking, feeling and being…

Natural Disaster!

In the second dream, the time period seems to be several years ago; I was eating out with my parents and sister in California. They were fighting about the fact that she will have to start high school soon (J has now graduated college), and we drove off. I mentioned that I-5 (the main North-South corridor between Los Angeles and San Francisco) was closed to all but military traffic. We also saw a lot of military vehicles on the roads we were on (which were quite strange and unfamiliar). As we drove, we also passed these huge transport trucks carrying live pigs and cows in great mounds. I pointed out that that’s going to be a lot of hamburger for someone! I seemed to have the impression that we were observing some sort of humanitarian mission by the government to aid a large population that had been displaced. …also that this strategy was clearly another example of the folly of governmental bureaucracy. Possibly this was due to a disaster like a major S. California earthquake? That specific event I didn’t dream of; only the aftermath. I may have just been observing the effects of overpopulation, but I have a feeling that something major had occurred in the days previous to the dream time-frame. Also, along the road there were vendors of all kinds trying to sell random gadgets and trinkets to us, and anyone else who came along.

I should note that this may be relevant to the fact that both K and I are vegetarian. For those interested in a clarification of the meaning of the term, this is a decent site to visit for fast answers. …but not fast food; I should remark that I believe the fast food industry to be deplorable, both in terms of health and morality. It is a virus in our society, and a cancer of our planet. McDonald’s is frequently the focus of controversy (e.g., the movie, “Super Size Me”, and also especially the “McLibel Trial”, and surrounding events), but this is really a societal problem, and we are all to blame in one way or another. I shall post on this issue in greater detail elsewhere…

  1. Are you saying you are developing the ability to read auras OR the ability to read auras AND minds. If it is the latter then I would have to say you are not doing a good job with me. In addition, you are probably watching too much Star Trek and you probably think you are a Vulcan if you are reading minds.

By saying ‘K’ are you providing some level of anonymity for your alleged wife? If so, can I pretend that I am ‘katy’ who does not know you and who is a spy? :)

  2. I have many powers, both latent and manifest. :) Categorizing them in linguistic terms is both an exercise in futility and cultural arrogance. ;)

I probably do watch too much Star Trek, but such a judgment would be subjective, and by most any standards I certainly would not be the only one!

My use of initials echo the literary conventions (primarily of the 18th and 19th centuries) regarding that practice. I simply wish to avoid being untactful or to draw attention to others who may not wish for their names to be posted here, and also to avoid unnecessary political attention. You may be as anonymous as you wish, as is the case with any visitors here.

  3. Why is it cultural arrogance? Be more concrete (ha!).

I was only suggesting that you watch too much Star Trek simply because you sound like a Vulcan with all of the posturing. I do not really have any room to talk since I apparently sound like a Borg meets Capt. Picard.

Those referred to by a letter in 18th & 19th century literature were almost always irrelevant characters that did nothing to drive the “plot”. Are you saying that J & K are irrelevant characters who do nothing to drive the plot in your life? What political attention? Are you running for office or do you wish to protect K’s ever illustrious career or your own?

In closing, I think I will probably post here less when you have more visitors. I should think at that point I would not be as welcome.

  4. Hmmm…

Well, I was speaking in Whorfian terms (the anthropologist, not the Klingon): The grammatical categories a person uses to represent the world systematically impacts his/her ability to understand it, and construct it in his/her mind. The True World, does not necessarily correspond to these categories (if It even exists). Thus, it is culturally-centric, and therefore arrogant to presume a distinction such as Mind (i.e., thought) and Emotion (i.e., aura) exists in Reality, merely because it exists in the English Language (where it might not exist in other languages), as if that were the Truth, and not a social construction.

I may sound like a Vulcan, but that may or may not have anything to do with how often I watch Star Trek!

At least at this point, my idea is to express all proper names as initials in this blog–so since all “characters” will be treated equally, there is no comment, either implied or otherwise, regarding the “relevance” of that character to my life (or anyone else’s for that matter).

You may post as often as you like, and you are welcome to do so at whatever frequency is most comfortable for you, of course. :)
